Conduit Unveils the "Conduit Awards" for Developers of Innovative Components & Applications
Conduit Network of more than 200,000 Web Publishers & 60 Million Users Will Select Winners for $15,000 in Cash and Prizes

SAN MATEO, CA, October 02, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Conduit, the company enabling web publishers to distribute their offerings directly and through its global network of publishers, today announced the first "Conduit Awards" to honor creative development of components and applications that can be shared in the Conduit Marketplace. Using the Conduit Marketplace, any online publisher or developer can distribute content, gadgets and applications (called "conduits") to more than 200,000 publishers and their 60 million users that are part of the Conduit Network. In addition to the distribution opportunity, the company will be giving away more than $15,000 in cash and prizes to the best conduits in eight categories from around the world.

Since its launch in June of 2009, the Conduit Marketplace has become the world's largest and most updated resource for content that can be shared across community toolbars. To date, thousands of conduits have been added to the Marketplace and distributed on hundreds of thousands of community toolbars. Fox News, 5min.com Fitness, iWin, and Seeking Alpha are among the web publishers distributing everything from news feeds and games to video players and social media tools in the Conduit Marketplace.
As part of the company's open strategy, it has created the Conduit Awards to encourage the development of innovative and compelling conduits in the Marketplace. "We built the Conduit Platform to be open and flexible so that developers and content providers can leverage our huge network to distribute their components," said Adam Boyden. "Now we are inviting any web publisher or developer to use our intuitive platform and get exposure to millions of users in a few easy steps."
To Enter: Create a cool component of any type (like the theFreeDictionary.com definition look-up, the Facebook Live Notifier, or the Ping.fm status updater) and add it into the Conduit Marketplace here.
The Categories: Publishers can enter their web components in the following eight categories: General, News, Games, Sports, Entertainment, Shopping, Travel, and Technology.
Deadline: All components created before November 1, 2009, can be eligible to participate in the Conduit Awards. Components must be submitted via the online form by November 1, 2009. On November 5, 2009, eight nominees will be chosen in each of the eight categories.
How to Win: There are two ways to win in each category.
• From November 5 - December 5, 2009, the nominated component from each category with the highest number of installations by the Conduit Network will win.
• From November 5 - December 5, 2009, the nominated component that earns the highest rating from members of the Conduit Network in each category will win.
Prizes: Two winners in each of the eight categories above will win. A panel of judges will also select a grand prize winner. More than $15,000 in prize money and a Nokia Booklet 3G will be awarded.
