Shawmut Design and Construction Appoints New Chief Legal Officer

BOSTON, MA, April 24, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Shawmut Design and Construction (www.shawmut.com), a leading national construction management firm, is pleased to welcome Doug Lareau as Vice President and Chief Legal Officer. Reporting to Shawmut's President and Chief Operating Officer, Doug has more than 15 years of legal experience as a member of the Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Illinois Bar Associations.

In his new role within Shawmut's Senior Executive Team, Doug will lead the development and implementation of strategic legal, compliance, and risk architecture to include overall strategy and goals. Shawmut will continue to compliment its legal needs (as needed) with a targeted use of outside counsel services under Doug's direction.

Before joining Shawmut, Doug spent ten years with Honeywell International, Inc. where he held various positions throughout the company. Most recently, Doug held the role of Assistant General Counsel for the Technology and Operations division at Honeywell's global headquarters in Morristown, NJ.

Prior to his tenure with Honeywell, Doug practiced law privately, and was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy's Judge Advocate Generals Corps. A graduate of Cornell University and cum laude graduate of Tulane Law School, Doug continued his education at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and Harvard Law School.
